FAQs
PROS
Natural: The poly thin skin base is transparent and looks just like our bio-skin, looking absolutely natural when attached to the wearer’s scalp.
Clingy: Poly skin base can be attached to the head using either glue or tape, creating a solid grip.
Low Maintenance: The thin skin toupee is easy to maintain and wash, making it an ideal choice for new wearers.
Economical: The PU hair system costs less than most lace hair systems, making it a great alternative to lace hair systems.
CONS
Breathability: Poly skin hair systems are less breathable than lace hair systems. So lace hair systems may be a better option if you are living in tropical weather.
Firstly, you must prepare a sharp pair of scissors and use them only for cutting hair systems. Then, measure and determine the final area and shape of the base and mark it out with a pen. At last, cut it out. Check out this tutorial and a video clip
Hair density is an essential factor when it comes to blending the hairpiece’s hair with the wearer’s natural hair. If the toupee hair is too dense for your client, you can thin it out. Click to learn how to thin out the hair on the hair system.
If your tape is not sticking to a new poly thin skin hair system, this may be due to a manufacturing step called “grease conditioning”.
To tackle that, clean the underside of the base thoroughly using alcohol, or wash and shampoo it completely, ensuring it’s oil-free.

Regular maintenance of the hair system includes removing the hair system, washing it, cleaning the scalp, and reattaching it again.

Poly skin hair systems are easier to clean than lace or monofilament hair systems. It is true when it comes to clearing glue residue. The glue we use for sticking hair systems is generally super strong. Some residue will inevitably remain after the hairpiece is completely removed.
However, to clean them, everything’s simple. An unwanted card and glue remover will do. Spray the remover on the glue residue, let it soak and get loose, and scrape it with the old card. Keep doing the same until it is spotless. Remember, clearing glue residue takes nothing but patience.
With injected hair or v-looped hair systems, never brush the hair when wet.
· Avoid pulling the hair too hard with a comb or brush when cutting it.
· Avoid hair tangling by following some untangling tips: https://youtu.be/OENLjmJtySw
· Wash the hair system at least once weekly, shampooing and conditioning it properly.
· Airdrying the hair is highly recommended. If blow-drying is a must, always keep it on low heat, and never let the heat blow on a particular spot for too long.
Shedding happens mainly in two scenarios: Hair, from the root to the tip, comes entirely out of the pore. Or, the hair breaks in the middle, with the roots and the remaining part intact. Let’s explain each in detail.
1. The entire hair strand comes off from root to tip: This happens most often with the PU base hair unit.
Their hair is v-looped or injected to the base (not tied). Their pores can swell and enlarge when washing their hair with hot water. Pulling too hard when combing will also get hair pulled off.
The hair system is also prone to shedding when using silicone-based shampoo or conditioner. So avoid to use those kind of products on the base.
2. The hair shaft breaks in the middle: This usually happens due to overprocessing the hair or dehydration.
Excessive hair processing, including dyeing, perming, heating, etc., can lead to brittle hair shafts and cause the hair to become susceptible to breakage.
Some hair types are also prone to breakage. Indian hair is usually soft and delicate, while Chinese hair is thick and robust and endures most styling options.
Other factors may also cause hair breakage, such as tangling and friction that weaken the hair strand over time. So, put some effort into keeping your hair untangled.
How can I best avoid shedding?
Overall, with HS1 poly thin skin hair system, never let the hot water soak the hair roots. Avoid using silicone-based shampoo or products. Do not over-process the hair, and avoid tangling or rubbing the hair too hard.

The key factors contributing to hair color fading are as follows:
1. Too much exposure to sunlight
2. Incorrect use of shampoo and styling products
3. High temperatures
4. Dark hair fades more than light hair
Hence you have figured out pretty much by now how to retain your toupee hair color best:
1. Wear a sun cap when outdoors, avoiding excessive sun exposure.
2. Use the right shampoos and hair products; avoid over-processing your toupee hair or dyeing it too much.
3. Avoid high temperatures, so try not to heat-dry the toupee hair, and avoid excessive heat styling.
Some thin skin hair system bases are born with a shine on their surface. Especially when they go under the sun, others could notice a thin layer of something shiny over the person’s scalp. That’s why we better get rid of it.
Anti-Shine Powder: Powder makes things dull. It’s true. Put some powder into a cotton ball, and spread the powder on the surface of the base where it shines. It works well.
NYX Shine Killer: NYX Shine Killer is a product usually for girls to cover the shine of their makeup. Dip a cotton swab into the product, and apply it on the shine. It works well.
No-Shine Tape: Sometimes, the shine is caused by using shiny tapes. Usually, when we use tape to install a thin skin hair system, we attach tape around the edge of the base. And the hairline, in this case, is also where the tape is attached. So if the tape shines, we get a shiny hairline or sides. Using no-shine tapes, you’ll be free from the scenario.
